We are looking for a number of Permitting Support Advisors to join the National Permitting Centre based in Sheffield on a permanent basis. You'll manage incoming permit applications, provide support to technical officers throughout the determination process and determine lower risk licences and permits from start to finish without technical input. You'll help the National Permitting Service achieve its goals and contribute to the Environment Agency’s Vision of creating a better place for people and wildlife.
You'll work within the Permitting & Support Centre, part of the National Permitting Service. The service receives 12,000+ applications a year, covering Environmental Permitting and Water Resources regulations. The Permitting & Support Centre undertake a number of administrative tasks that help to ensure all work is completed within our customer charter and that customers are kept informed of the progress of their application.
Able to use a range of communication methods to understand our different customer needs and be able to provide information clearly and concisely.

Can deliver high quality work, managing their own workload and prioritising tasks to meet tight timescales and national deadlines.

Has good IT skills and experience of using Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.

Basic educational requirements – GCSE level or equivalent
