We are looking for a great person to provide technical leadership and drive performance in the Environment Agency’s Asset Performance Team in Norfolk. The role is about ensuring that flood risks assets perform as they should to help manage flood risk to people and property.

It’s a varied role involving supervision, identifying priorities and complying with processes and legal requirements. You’d be providing technical advice on maintaining, repairing, improving and operating a range of flood risk assets on rivers and the coast. Health and Safety is really important as is keeping us ready to respond to flood and environmental incidents.
This role will be to support the Team Leader with managing the team’s workload and priorities which include:

•Asset inspection and condition reporting
•Identifying appropriate, cost effective solutions for asset repair, refurbishment, improvement and replacement
•Managing data
•Finances
•Preparing risk management paperwork
•Public safety
•Enforcement
•Working with others to reduce the risk to people and property from flooding
•Statutory requirements and following procedures
•Customers, professional partners and stakeholders
•Incident response capabilities
• Great communication skills
• Experience of coaching or developing others’ skills/knowledge
• Good understanding of Health & Safety legislation and practices including CDM
• Working experience of risk management procedures
• Effective planning skills with the ability to prioritise and deliver results to tight deadlines
• You must be able to take initiative, be flexible, solve problems and make decisions
• Excellent IT skills and experience of managing and interpreting data

Driving licence required
