As part of a busy Operations Field Team you'll operate and maintain assets to prevent flooding within the River Loddon catchment. You'll have what it takes to lead the daily tasks of a small team to complete our routine work programme and respond to incidents and emergencies as a rostered member of that team.
As part of the Kennet and Loddon Field Team you'll provide an emergency response service 24 hours a day for flood and environmental incidents. You'll assist in delivering maintenance programmes for our flood defences, including tree work and removing blockages and debris. You'll assist in operating and maintain our assets. You'll lead the team in their daily tasks.
You must be physically fit and able to work outside in all weathers. Experience of using chainsaws, strimmers, driving tractors is useful but not essential as training will be given. You'll be a good communicator with excellent team working skills and the ability to deal with members of the public and contractors. You must be available for 24 hour standby arrangements and therefore able to travel to Wokingham Depot. You'll need to demonstrate an ability to follow Health and Safety procedures and risk assessments and lead the team in their daily tasks. You'll be required to travel to a number of sites across the area and therefore a full UK driving licence is required.

Responds quickly and effectively to incidents and emergencies and manages the contribution of others within the team required to do so.
Driving licence required
