Provide a value added service to field based operations to ensure that our fleet assets are legally compliant and safe in order to meet operational needs and minimise the environmental impact of the fleet. Build and sustain effective relationships internally and with external suppliers in order to ensure continuing effective operation of the Environment Agency’s fleet. Lead and support on fleet management activities relevant to area of expertise to resolve operational challenges, drive continuous improvement and provide an exemplar customer service experience
Defra Group Fleet Services provides a collaborative service across the Defra group. Fleet Operations team are responsible for ensuring customers have assets that are operational and met their requirements. As part of the SE Fleet team you will report to the Technical Team Leader and work alongside three other technical officers. You will be responsible for looking after a dedicated area and the RO’s and teams giving support across the fleet group.
Sound understanding of the business and activities of a Fleet Operations function.
Good knowledge of technical legislation and best practice within Fleet Management.
Building networks, engaging with RO’s, Area managers developing and communicating fleet processes and strategies.
Influencing customers and internal stakeholders to build strong partnerships and maintain a positive reputation and effective resolution of issues.
Providing professional / technical expertise to support operational priorities in line with legislation and organisational policies and goals.
Be able to coach and advise dispersed teams and to oversee the management of their assets ensuring legal compliance at all times.

Must hold a full uk driving licence with no more than 6 points.
