Training and exercising is central to effective incident response and emergency management and this post will be pivotal to the delivery of our area training and exercising strategy. The post will co-ordinate, validate and assure the training provision for all our incident response roles across the wide range of incidents we respond to. Helping to shape and deliver a holistic training syllabus covering all aspects of our emergency response work, this exciting post will ensure our 400+ members of staff, have the skills and the experience required to deliver our resilient, 365, 24/7 response to a wide range of emergencies, from major flooding to pollution events.
The Area Incident Team is responsible for all aspects of incident response and emergency planning for the environment agency in Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and Leicestershire. We work with our own staff and a wide range of emergency response partners to ensure we are ready to respond to any emergency that might affect the communities we serve.
The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills and be able to deliver complex concepts to a diverse range of audiences. Exceptional organisational skills will be required to develop a coherent training syllabus than can be delivered by different technical experts. The successful candidate will benefit from a good learning and development foundation and experience of such.
The role will be based in our east midlands area although the exact office location can be at any of our area offices. Some travel around the area and occasionally the country will be required. The role holder will also be required to take part in our out of hours incident response work.
