This is an opportunity to join the Environment Agency at an entry level position within the area of Water Resources Planning. It is an exciting opportunity to join a team working with Water Companies, Internal colleagues working to secure long-term sustainable water supplies. The role will support and contribute to the work being carried out to build resilience into long term water resource planning at a time of climate change and the challenges that this brings at a local, regional, and national level.
The role will include working in & supporting virtual teams in the delivery of water resources work as well as an opportunity to develop your own skills, knowledge, and experience to enhance your career opportunities with the Environment Agency. You will provide administrative support to the wider teams as well as work on pieces of work in support of the wider aims and goals of the Environment Agency. There will be opportunities to broaden your experience by being part of a wide array of different groups working on People, HSW, EDI or task and finish work were bringing people together will enhance the output and support the wider operation.
We are a Water Resources team who work with Water Companies on their statutory requirements to supply water to the Public, Agriculture & Industry within England’s borders alongside internal Environment Agency & External Partners colleagues, our main customers are Water Companies.
The team helps to influence and ensure the right decisions are made by water companies and others to protect and enhance the future needs of water supply, the ecology, and the environment.
Experience/skills required
We are seeking an enthusiastic individual with a desire to join and organisation and team who are at the forefront of Water Resources planning, ideally you will have the drive and passion to learn new skills, develop your understanding of water resources planning, data handling and analysis skills, skills, and knowledge to impact on the sustainability of our water supply.

Experience/Skilled required:
- Effective communication skills.
- Educated to GCSE standard or Equivalent (C or 4 or above in GCSE English & Maths).
- Positive & Enthusiastic attitude.
- Able to work as part of a team or independently off your own initiative.
- A basic working knowledge of Microsoft applications, word, outlook & excel.
- Experience of achieving work/tasks against timescales.
- A desire to learn and develop skills and Knowledge of Water Resource Planning.

Desirable but not essential
- Experience of using office 360, including SharePoint.

The role will require some travel & overnight stays to attend internal meetings, we operate a hybrid working model splitting time between home and office locations.
