There are 5 roles available at locations in East, South and North Yorkshire.

Do you want to make the world a better place? Are you passionate about protecting the nation against natural threats and hazards? We are looking for a great person to lead, direct and motivate our Operational Field Teams.
You'll be leading a team which is responsible for protecting people against flooding and will play a critical role in leading them during floods as an emergency responder.
You will also be responsible for the safe and efficient delivery of the area’s maintenance programme, working with other professional teams across the Environment Agency as well as with external partners and customers.
Health and Safety and risk management will be at the forefront of your mind whilst you ensure that all legal and agency requirements are adhered to.
Operational Field Teams are based in Depots across Yorkshire. You will be responsible for leading one of these teams with the support of specialist team members who will assist with managing the team’s workload.

Team responsibilities include:
• Prepare and respond to incidents
• Deliver the Environment Agency’s maintenance programme
• Maintain flood defences and other Environment Agency equipment
• Work with other teams in the Agency to protect properties and improve Environments
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Effective in leading people, with strong motivational skills.
• Good understanding of Health & Safety legislation and practices
• Experience of risk assessment
• Great planning skills with the ability to prioritise and deliver results to tight deadlines
• Experience of leading others
• You must be able to take initiative, be flexible, solve problems and make decisions
• Experience in improving and monitoring performance.
• Excellent IT skills
You will get involved with incident management when flooding occurs and get all the training and support you need.

Driving licence required

Therefore, you will not be eligible for continuous service.
