If leadership is part of your career plan then we just might have the role you are looking for in Cumbria. We have a permanent team leader role based in our Penrith Office. The team leader role is absolutely critical to how we deliver our business and ensuring that everyone who works here has the support they need to do a fantastic job. Our leadership roles cover a wide and diverse range of teams across the whole of Cumbria and Lancashire. We have teams that work in a variety of different locations both office and field based. This does mean that there is likely to be travelling involved both by car and rail between our offices in Penrith and Preston. We are keen to receive applications from a diverse range of people to fill our permanent role in our land and water environmental protection team.
The Land and Water team members work mainly in the field performing a regulatory role. They work other partner organisations and with industry and the farming community to bring about improvements in water quality in a specific geographical based location. You will manage a team of approximately 6-8 people to ensure we deliver against key performance indicators and EU commitments.
We are looking for enthusiastic, self motivated applicants, who see that providing great leadership is as important as protecting people and the environment. You should have some experience of leading people, and this may have been achieved through other non-team leader roles e.g. project management or leading field teams. We would also expect good communication, influencing, decision making skills and knowledge of health, safety and wellbeing to help you do a great job.
We are fully committed to having an inclusive workforce to reflect the communities we serve. We welcome flexible working patterns for all our vacancies, including job share, so please include clearly any information regarding your preferred working arrangements on your application.
The Environment Agency offers an excellent benefits package including 27 days holiday plus public holidays, flexible working, childcare voucher scheme and access to many other corporate benefits. You can also download the candidate pack for more information.
