We are looking for an Environment Officer to join our waste team covering Worcestershire and Gloucestershire. You'll be responsible for regulating the waste industry, ensuring our regulated sites remain in full compliance and taking tough action against those that fail to comply. This is a challenging role and you may need to deal with situations that are confrontational. Good communication, influencing and persuading skills are therefore essential.
The role will require you to respond to pollution incidents and illegal sites during and outside office hours, as well as supporting wider incident management.

The team regulates permitted waste sites, hazardous waste producers and waste carriers in Worcestershire and Gloucestershire, which ensures compliance and protection of the environment. They also participate in out of hours standby for waste and water incidents.
- Demonstrate excellent influencing skills and success in dealing with difficult people and situations.

- Be able to work independently, make decisions and prioritise work to achieve good outcomes.
- A full UK driving licence is essential as you’ll be involved in fieldwork.
