We’re looking for a Hydrometry and Telemetry Officer (level 2) to join an office and field based role, collecting, analysing data from the field, to provide business critical information to internal and external customer, partners and stakeholders.
The Hydrometry and Telemetry team provides support to core telemetry, hydrometric and hydrological activities undertaken in the Essex Suffolk & Norfolk Area. It delivers a vital service that underpins much of the Environment Agency’s statutory responsibilities relating to flood forecasting and water resources
We’re seeking an enthusiastic, practical person who enjoys working outdoors, in all weather, and has the capability to install, test, calibrate and repair complex instrumentation.

You'll also need to have an aptitude for numbers, demonstrate a logical and analytical mind, and be prepared to pay special attention to detail when it comes to analysing trends in large data sets.

Other key requirements for this job include excellent communication skills, proficiency in word, excel and database management along with a passion for analysis and problem solving.

You'll also be qualified to at least degree standard (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline.
