This is an incredibly exciting time to join the Businesslike team within Operations Business Services (OBS) to help us deliver projects to benefit the whole of the EA. As a team our focus is on ensuring our data, information and processes support officers, leaders and managers make the right decisions at the right time.

We are looking for 2 Programme leads to work closely with a prioritised set of customer groups in the EA on ambitions within the overall Businesslike plan.
It is important you are comfortable with delivering results through a virtual team – colleagues within the team and other stakeholders in the EA or wider DEFRA.

These roles have impact beyond their immediate scope of activity and are engaged on complex and technical matters to drive forward new solutions for how we harness our business intelligence. You will be expected to work semi-autonomously with initiative, and have responsibility for managing some of the fantastic project opportunities in front of us.
Important qualities are your kindness, hard work, excellent networking skills and a willingness to think differently and drive better ways of working. Ideally someone who is confident, collaborative, capable and caring about staff and customers would be desirable.

We’re looking for transferrable skills/capabilities as a leader of successful projects previously. You will be responsive and comfortable with adapting to changing priorities.

You will have a passion for the power of data and what business intelligence can unlock for the EA.

To be responsive to our customer needs, and ultimately for our programme success, ideally you will have the following:
• excellent organisational skills
• experience of leading continuous improvement and/or championing innovation and changes to practice
• a tenacity to problem solve
• experience communicating on complex issues and influencing senior staff
• an ability to prioritise and manage delivery of project outcomes
• an ability to proactively develop effective working relationships
• an ability to gather/evaluate complex qualitative and quantitative information/evidence
• excellent business awareness

You will be willing to undertake specialist/or further training, when necessary.
