The Environment Agency works with government, local councils, businesses, civil society groups and communities to make our environment a better place for people and wildlife.

As a Category 1 emergency responder, under the Civil Contingencies Act, we need to be prepared for many types of incidents and emergencies. We work alongside other agencies to prevent harm to people and the environment.
We are looking for an enthusiast and inspirational partnerships expert with a passion for incident management who wants to make a lasting difference by leading our preparedness for what’s ahead.

You'll provide leadership on our partnership approaches, ensuring we’re an effective partner to work with in the multi-agency response world. You’ll be with working with some of our key national response partners. You’ll also work closely with our 14 Operational Area Incident teams to ensure our national work aligns with their partnership work on the ground, develop new initiatives with them and bring local issues to a national platform.
Taking risks identified in the National Security Risk Register and turning them into scalable and usable plans for the organisation to follow; working in partnerships with other response bodies and agencies to improve responses and preparing the organisation for risks we can see looming on the horizon is the role of the National Incident Planning team. The team are a small group of emergency planning experts dispersed across England.
We are looking for applicants with:

• The ability to network and develop strong links and plans with colleagues and external partners;
• A proven ability to deliver results through others outside of your direct control;
• The ability to work collaboratively across multiple teams;
• Strong communication skills adaptable to a wide variety of audiences and styles;
• Practical experience of responding to emergencies, corporate risks or business continuity incidents.

This role is a fixed term appointment for those new to the Environment Agency and an assignment for those already working at the Environment Agency. The role will require some travel across England, as the team and our partners are spread across the country, but the majority of your time will be spent at home or in your nearest office.
