You will be a key leader in a programme of projects where the Environment Agency in partnership with Eastbourne Borough Council are developing a new, £100+ million large coastal flood and erosion risk management approach for the Pevensey Bay to Eastbourne stretch of coast.
This will be one of the largest coastal flood risk projects in the country, as we plan to make Pevensey Bay to Eastbourne resilient to coastal flooding in response to the current climate emergency.
The programme will reduce the risk of flooding and coastal erosion to an estimated 10,000 residential properties as well as key infrastructure, local businesses, heritage sites and nature conservation areas.
For some elements of the programme you may be Project Executive and for other projects in the programme, you will take a more strategic role overseeing the programme, ensuring they are affordable and sustainable and building a collaborative team alongside the Area Programme Director.
You will also form a key member of the South East Hub Leadership Team working alongside the Delivery Manager, Programme Specialists and other Programme Managers and will be part of the national Programme Manager Community of Practice.
Responding to incidents is a central part of what we do. You will be required to have an incident role and make yourself available to respond to incidents or provide business continuity support during an incident. This may attract an additional payment and full training and alternative working arrangements will be available to support you with your incident role.
