We're looking for a highly motivated and skilled individual to fill the Flood & Coastal Risk Management (FCRM) Programme Officer role in Solent & South Downs Area. As part of the FCRM Programme team you will ensure revenue maintenance projects and programmes are monitored effectively, liaising with a number of FCRM teams and the wider business to gather information.

You’ll extract and analyse project, programme and performance data, and work with this information to prepare reports that will support decision making across the business. There will also be an opportunity to be involved in delivering the capital programme through assisting with the Reconditioning programme, helping to bring FCRM assets back up to condition. This will give exposure to project management techniques and processes to develop your skills.

In the role you’ll also handle and respond to information requests, liaising with the relevant business areas including the Regional Flood and Coastal Committee. This is an excellent opportunity to join a team that is making the difference for our customers and our environment.

Responding to incidents is a central part of what we do. You will be required to have an incident role and make yourself available to respond to incidents, or provide business continuity support during an incident. This may attract an additional payment and full training and alternative working arrangements will be available to support you with your incident role.
This role will form a core part of the Area Programming Team, working collaboratively with colleagues including Area Project Managers, Programme and Contract Management, Asset Performance, and National Revenue Maintenance Teams. The role will help develop, manage and deliver FCRM programmes of work whilst minimising our carbon footprint and moving towards Net Zero. The role will also form part of a national community, working with colleagues across the directorate to promote a 'one business approach'.
You will be able to demonstrate the following:

• Excellent organisational and inter-personal skills
• Experience of managing expenditure, budgets, forecasts and reporting this in an accurate and timely manner
• You can communicate and present convincing verbal and written advice and have a practical approach to problem solving
• The ability to build and maintain effective working relationships across different parts of the business
• Excellent Microsoft office skills including Excel and PowerBi
