As an Asset Performance Advisor you'll be leading on and helping to shape a variety of work areas to ensure our flood defence assets are effectively managed across Staffordshire, Warwickshire and the West Midlands.

You will have an excellent track record in working in partnership with others to reduce the risk of flooding to more households through effective Asset Management.
You'll work closely with team leaders and the catchment engineer to provide a robust level of competence and technical knowledge around our day to day engineering decisions making and assurance activities.
You will also play an important role in coaching and mentoring other team members by sharing your technical knowledge to ensure we make sound technical decisions as an expert client and industry leader in flood risk management.
The Asset Performance team manages our flood risk assets to ensure that they are in the right place and at the required condition to reduce the impact of flooding. We work closely with internal and external contractors and partners and take an active role in incident management, ensuring our assets perform when it really matters.
This role requires excellent communication, organisational and prioritisation skills to ensure the wide asset base is maintained to the required standards using a variety of Environment Agency IT systems.

Strong influencing, project and programming skills are also required to establish key relationships between teams and ensure the effective planning and delivery of the large asset management programme within the area.

The ability to solve problems and take sound decisions based on data and evidence will also form a key part of the role.

Experience in engineering and asset management activities is essential. You will be a member of an appropriate professional body such as ICE or CIWEM at a minimum level of engineering technician (Eng Tech) working towards incorporated (IEng) engineer status.

The role will require travel for meetings and site visits and participation in a 24 hour incident response roster. A full Driving Licence is essential.
