Together, we can make plastic pollution a thing of the past. We are looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated person to work with a highly motivated team on reducing the amount of plastic pollution caused by agriculture. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to contribute to the understanding and development of new initiatives in reducing plastic pollution and help create a circular economy within this sector. This role will largely be field-based and requires a person who is kind, well organised, with excellent communication skills. An understanding of the waste industry would also be an advantage.
A new Plastics and Sustainability was created earlier this year, working to support communities and businesses reduce, recover and remove plastic in the environment. The team is based in Devon, Cornwall and the IoS and forms part of the Environmental Monitoring Assessment and Analyses Team. This role will report to the Plastics and Sustainability Team Programme Manager.
You will:
• be well organised, able to prioritise a varied workload and maintain attention to detail to ensure your work is delivered to a high standard;
• demonstrate excellent communication skills, able to influence others and deliver to tight timescales;
• be self-motivated working well in team environment and under your own initiative;
• Previous experience/knowledge of the agricultural sector is an advantage.
