Water Land and Biodiversity Asset Management Data Assistant - 32012

In the Water Land and Biodiversity (WLB) team, we are on a journey to improve our asset management. To do this we need to implement an asset management system that provides the framework, systems and processes for a whole lifecycle approach to the management of WLB assets, ensuring they are safe, effective and resilient and that our future investment requirements are fully understood. We are now using AIMS:OM (Asset Information Management System, Operations and Maintenance) to work towards achieving accurate and reliable asset data information. The Data Improvement Plan is a national priority, with the delivery being part of this role.

This role will include:
Improving the team’s data management, and records management.
Setting up of recurring asset maintenance activities and inspections in AIMS:OM
Working to improve documents that support our day-to-day activities
Supporting ways to improve the sustainability and resilience of assets by improving the data.
Potential for infrequent site visits whilst working with asset management colleagues or for data verification.

Responding to incidents is a central part of what we do. You will be required to have an incident role and make yourself available to respond to incidents, or provide business continuity support during an incident. This may attract an additional payment and full training and alternative working arrangements will be available to support you with your incident role.

Reporting to the WLB Asset Management Team Leader, you will work with a range of colleagues from asset management both in Area and National, including teams such as Hydrometry and Telemetry, Groundwater and Contaminated Land, Hydrology, Fisheries, Biodiversity and Geomorphology. There may be a need for joined up working with colleagues from other business functions. You will form part of a national community of practice for asset management.

Ability to input, collate, interrogate, interpret and report on different sources of data in an accurate and efficient manner.
Deliver work by planning, tracking, gathering and maintaining data/information.
Work under own initiative and as part of a team to make decisions and achieve outcomes.
Organisational skills and an ability to use systems and applications.
Have an eye for detail, be efficient and able to persevere with tasks.
Good communication skills.
Able to develop and maintain good relationships.

Experience in asset management work is an advantage but not essential as training will be provided.

Base location will be Welwyn Garden City office, with occasional travel for meetings and site visits.
It is expected that this role can be done in a hybrid way, with a mix of home and office working, depending on the individual circumstances and business operational needs.

Interviews will most likely be held in November and will be in person at our Alchemy office in Welwyn Garden City.
