Your role will be to lead the Programme Team within the Flood & Coastal Risk Management department in North East area; this will include managing the capital and revenue programmes having oversight of the development and delivery of flood risk projects, monitoring programme progress and outcomes, managing risk within the programmes and maximising opportunities to secure investment and make efficiencies. You will work closely with the national programme and allocations teams and the Integrated Delivery Team .You will generate and provide key financial and programme information to the Area Delivery Portfolio Board and Northumbria Regional Flood and Coastal Committee (RFCC).
The Programme Team works with other teams and partners to develop and monitor the delivery of the flood risk capital investment programme. They compile and manage financial and programme data and convert this into clear, concise and timely management information that is used to make decisions on investment priorities and delivery of outcomes. They also respond to a wide range of requests for information on our programme from government, national office and local customers.
We are seeking leaders who will have an ability to demonstrate the following:

- A programming practitioner, strategic thinker and skilled senior advisor providing support at a variety of grades.
- Experienced in providing local strategic leadership so as to influence and deliver outcomes.
- Will be able to step back and appreciate the 'bigger picture' in seeking a balance between local and national needs, as part of an overview role.
- Delivering results through others, which will particularly important when working across teams and the organisation.
- Strong communication and networking skills to develop and deliver outcomes through RFCCs and partners.
