The West Midlands Hydrology Team currently consists of 8 Hydrologists delivering work across Shropshire, Gloucestershire, Herefordshire, Staffordshire, Worcestershire, Warwickshire and West Midlands. The Team provides technical expertise and advice on a range of water resource management projects including Water Framework Directive, Catchment Abstraction Management Strategies, Restoring Sustainable Abstraction programme, water resource management plans, drought plans and determining water resources licences.

We are looking for enthusiastic, self-motivated applicants, who see that providing great leadership is as important as using their specialist technical knowledge to protect people and the environment. You will demonstrate the following:
• A solid understanding of hydrological processes
• A degree in hydrology/geography or another closely related subject
• An in depth understanding of water resources
• Delivery of work by planning, tracking, gathering and maintaining data/information
• Support and coach other less experienced
• Ability to analyse complex hydrological problems
• An understanding and experience of data collection
• Ability to develop and maintain good relationships with our customers
• Good organisational skills and an ability to take the initiative and work alone and as part of a team
• Excellent communication skills with the ability of turning technical detail into compelling argument for respective audiences.
• Membership of an appropriate professional body is desirable

Driving Licence - Full UK Licence Required
