We are looking for a self-motivated, highly organised person to manage our Osney Yard depot with wet dock, including running of the wood working fabrication workshop.
This role involves liaising and coordinating with external inspectors and Team Leaders in booking and attending site visits, assisting the Inspection Engineers to carry out LOLER, PUWER and other examinations on plant and assets for legal compliance, as well as allocating actions and updating the EA’s asset register when actions have been completed.
This role also includes the requirement to produce risk management paperwork, ensuring the health, safety and well-being of all elements of the depot, including the carpentry workshop, and the people who work within it.
This is a hands-on role. The successful applicant will be expected to operate machinery within the depot including forklifts, grounds maintenance equipment and small power tools. The applicant will also be expected to carry out additional depot-based duties as required. Examples of these can be discussed at interview.
The Flood and Coastal Risk Management Operations teams, based out of our Oxford depot, are responsible for operating and maintaining the flood risk management and navigation assets (e.g., reservoirs, flood banks, gates/sluices, locks, and weirs) in the Upper Thames area catchment. The field teams work flexibly within the Thames Area, supporting the work of other field teams where required.
This team work Full Time Monday – Friday or part of a 9 day Fortnight- further information will be shared at interview stage.
Field Teams work to protect people, property, and the environment by maintaining and operating our flood and coastal risk management assets and responding to incidents.
As the Depot Supervisor you will support our field teams at the base location, ensuring correctly maintained plant and equipment are ready to be utilised, with pre-inspection, audited use, and defects raised to keep in good working order.
Passionate about the environment, you will have the skills and knowledge necessary to manage a busy area depot. Ideally, you will also have operational flood risk management or construction/maintenance management experience and be up-to-date with current health and safety and construction legislation.
