We’re looking for an Assistant Scientist (calibration) to assist in the cleaning and maintenance of a wide range of water quality monitoring equipment. In addition you will assist in the operation of our quality assurance system.
The high resolution evidence produced is vital if we are to better understand our water environment.
The National Instrumentation team provides support to all high resolution water quality monitoring activities undertaken across the Agency. It delivers a vital service that underpins many of the Environment Agency’s statutory responsibilities such as the Water Framework Directive, Urban Waste Water Directive and Statutory Surface Water Monitoring Programme’s. It also makes a significant contribution to partnership projects. The team also supports the wide range of high profile stakeholder partnerships managed by the NLSi
We’re seeking a technician. Preference will be given to those with laboratory or workshop experience.

You should have an interest in science or engineering.

Be open and willing to learn.

Have good communication skills.

Be a team player

GCSE English, maths and science would be an advantage but not essential.
