The Environment Agency's (EA) National Flood and Coastal Risk Management (FCRM) Directorate has a leading role in protecting England from floods and coastal change.

We need a professional Senior Project Manager to help us deliver our business critical projects.

The successful candidate will have extensive experience of planning and delivering a range of projects within a formal project environment (e.g. APM/ Prince2).
This is a great opportunity to join the FCRM Portfolio team of project and programme professionals, which has an exceptional track record of delivering business improvement projects nationally.

We are looking for someone with:
• excellent, proven, professional project management skills.
• a successful track record of planning and delivery in a complex business environment.
• extensive experience in successfully managing risks, suppliers, finances, communications, negotiating, managing dispersed teams, internal and external stakeholders - to ensure that outputs are delivered successfully to achieve the required benefits.
• the ability to write compelling, comprehensive business cases
• good knowledge of best practice project management.

Essential:
• experience of using Microsoft Office and Project.

Desirable:
• experience of delivering IT enabled projects in a complex organisation.
• APM/ Prince2 Practitioner or equivalent qualification.
• Membership of the Association of Project Management (APM).
This is an assignment (internal), or fixed term contract (external) for 1 to 2 years, with a chance of extension.

The FCRM Portfolio Project Management team is based in Bristol but operates across the country. We can look to base you at an EA office local to your home. Occasional travel to key locations is required – London/ Bristol/ Birmingham.
