Do you want to make the East Midlands a better place for people and wildlife?

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who is inspirational to others and can provide strong leadership to our Agriculture workstream. You will support, and work closely with the two Team Leaders
You will need to be readily approachable to support and provide guidance, through coaching and development to team members. You will plan and monitor delivery of work and will be an expert link between a number of internal teams and national sector groups, ensuring excellent performance and delivery of our 25 Year Environment Plan objectives.

Key work Areas:

Agriculture workstream
Give leadership and direction to the workstream officers for this sector. Ensure you are linked into Environment and Business and we proactively regulate against issued permits and regulations. Plan and deliver our contribution to East Midlands Local Outcome Plan.

Materials to land and
Intensive agriculture workstreams
Lead and supervise the officers engaged in these workstreams. Where technical leadership is devolved have a collaborative and joined up relationship with these Technical Leads. Ensure we are linked into Environment and Business and we proactively regulate against issued permits, regulations and policy.
The two Land and Water teams deliver our Water, Land and Biodiversity brief, in an area including the cities, of Derby, Leicester and Nottingham, and also large areas given over to agriculture including the Derbyshire Peak District. The diverse nature of our Area makes for challenges and opportunities to enhance the environment.
Your base will be at one of our office locations :- Owston Ferry, Ripley, Nottingham, Rothley. Travel between these locations will be necessary.
A degree in a relevant subject, or related and equivalent work experience;

• Self awareness
• a good knowledge of the Agricultural sectors influencing water quality. Have experience and skills in modern regulation and relevant legislation.
• expected to be self-motivated and plan your workload to fit around Area priorities;
• coaching and mentoring staff within our Teams is essential. Aim to develop confident and high performing staff;
• apply your own initiative, and as part of a team to make decisions to achieve planned outcomes;
• excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a passion for helping others.
• Be able to promote inclusion by respecting differences in our workforce and work to build a supporting and engaging workplace;
• have the ability to develop yourself to face the changing challenges of our work;
• have a track record of technical leadership, delivering improvements and efficiencies.
