This role is extremely varied and draws upon a range of transferrable and specialist skills. Working closely with other teams and organisations, you can expect to be involved in any of the following:

As a Team Member in Partnerships and Strategic Overview you will support the area with delivery of the Mapping and Modelling Service. This includes reviewing Modelled data, updating Flood Maps and NaFra, and providing external customers with information and data with regard to Flood Risk. The post will specialise in the Cumbria area, so there is an expectation that you work at least three days from the Penrith office.
Our team are experts in mapping river and coastal flooding following flood events. They also support delivery of flood incident response as a Mapping and Visualisation Officer. We work closely with a range of partners, from internal partners in FCRM and wider business, consultants and direct with customers.

We work on projects that help us to prepare communities for future floods and determine appropriate flood mitigation solutions.
Through your experience to date you will ideally be able to demonstrate some of the following:

• You will have knowledge of river modelling and/or flood mapping, GIS or a related subject
• You will be able to work flexibly, including taking on an out of hour's duty role
• You will have well developed communication skills and be an expert at liaising with other people
• You will be able to work under pressure and be able to use own initiative
• You will have good presentation skills, and be able to work in teams

Excellent communication skills are a must as you’ll be working with a diverse range of people
As part of your comprehensive induction you will also be provided with all the equipment required for your role.
