We require a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our Flood and Coastal Risk Management (FCRM) Programme Team in the Solent & South Downs (SSD) Area. In this role you'll influence the day to day running of the FCRM programme and work with the Southern Regional Flood and Coastal Committee (SRFCC) to help deliver their objectives. The role will require working with colleagues and project managers to support the delivery of our capital programme of works. You'll assist with queries from project teams and third parties to ensure that timely information is available regarding the 6 year programme.
The SSD FCRM Programme Team are a small team dedicated to the smooth running of the Area programmes. Working closely across all FCRM teams and other Environment Agency colleagues the team have a monitoring and reporting role to ensure that timely interventions can be made to deliver our outcomes.
• Experience of implementing best practice solutions based on up-to-date knowledge and expertise.
• Working productively with internal and external partners/stakeholders to help deliver the outcomes of both a specific function/project/team and the wider organisation.
• Delivering work within a programme and project management framework to time, cost and quality.
• Identifying, communicating and helping to fill knowledge gaps in the business.
• Facilitating value, accountability and performance across the team including assessing how best to allocate resources to maximise outcomes.
• Demonstrating political awareness when dealing with customers, stakeholders and communities.
• Using effective written and spoken communication skills to help persuade internal or external partners to take action.
• Analysing/interpreting evidence to contribute effective solutions for technical problems.

• Determines, monitors and reviews all programme economics to include all costs, operational budgets, staffing requirements, resources and risk. Ensures that programme is managed to maximise Environment Agency benefits.
• Sets appropriate milestones; recognises and plans for areas of particular difficulty, uncertainty and set backs, regularly reviews project progress and effectiveness.
• Identifies, sets up and co-ordinates events to communicate and deliver, with maximum impact, the Environment Agency’s messages to internal or external audiences, positively promotes and publicises the work of the Environment Agency.
• Organises and manages seminars and workshops for promoting dialogue with specific audiences or for the development and briefing of staff or others.
