As a Transformation Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing projects and programmes that deliver improvement and optimisation for the organisation. You will be responsible for a small team of project managers and continuous improvement professionals and be part of a wider team leading on transformation.
You will provide trusted evidence to inform leadership decisions on prioritisation, ensuring optimal delivery of departmental / business strategic objectives in line with organisational priorities to enable delivery of our strategic outcomes outlined in our strategy: EA2030, in an ever-changing landscape.
You will provide high quality portfolio reporting and analysis, capturing, reporting and understanding benefits and efficiencies and continuously improving the portfolio management maturity in the Directorate. You will drive consistency and alignment across change and transformation activity, ensuring that the directorate adheres to best practice for project, programme and portfolio delivery.
We are a Category 1 responder and all staff are required to take on an incident role. You will be given appropriate training and support to find a role that suits your role and situation.
You’ll join our Transformation Team; a disciplined, value‑driven organisation where change is purposeful, prioritised, delivering measurable improvements for people and the environment. We’re a dispersed team, working with a wide range of technical/project teams.
We’re part of the Service Transformation Directorate with a mission to lead the strategic transformation of the EA into a digitally enabled powerhouse, providing strategic leadership, direction, and defining the scope and role of EA service transformation.
Work effectively with people from a variety of backgrounds and cultures, encouraging diversity of thought in our work. Programme/Project Management within a portfolio: championing good practice and innovation to deliver improvement initiatives. Detailed knowledge of programme planning, prioritisation and assurance, and delivering projects and programmes of work in a complex business environment. Good knowledge and experience of business case development, resource management, business change and implementation.
Networking skills to work across the business, driving complex programmes of work collaboratively and at pace. Excellent stakeholder engagement with the ability to influence senior key stakeholders and manage conflict effectively and efficiently. Be able to demonstrate persistence and resilience, achieving success by delivery despite obstacles or setbacks An empathetic leader, able to harness team strengths and safeguard/enhance wellbeing. Professional qualifications preferred: Programme/Project Management, Change Management, Continuous Improvement (eg Lean Six Sigma)

You’ll have an EA Office base location, as a national role the working location is flexible / hybrid.
We use smart tools to stay connected and reduce travel, some travel and overnights may be required.
