Can you consistently provide high-levels of accurate support to technical officers for complex permits as well as determining low-risk permits from start to finish independently?

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic individual, with outstanding customer service skills, to join the National Permitting Centre as a Permitting Support Advisor based in Sheffield.

You will work within a skilled team to manage incoming permit applications and provide support to customers and partners throughout the determination process.

You will need to be committed to providing an efficient customer focused service and the enthusiasm and willingness to commit to personal development and training to maintain your technical knowledge.
You will be joining a team within the Permitting Support Centre in Sheffield. We provide an administrative support service to the National Permitting Service and determine a range of permit applications from different regimes, ensuring environmental protection whilst enabling businesses to operate. We receive 12,000+ applications covering Environmental Permits and Water Resources regulations. The Teams ensure work is completed within our customer charter and that customers are kept informed of the progress of their application(s).
You should be able to demonstrate;

A high level of competency using a range of communication methods to understand our different customer needs and provide information clearly and concisely to both customers and internal partners.

The delivery of high quality work, managing your own workload and prioritising tasks to meet tight timescales and national deadlines.

You should have excellent IT skills and experience of using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Basic educational requirements – GCSE level equivalent.
