Operational Delivery, Senior Leadership
£58,174
We have a fantastic opportunity to join the senior leadership team in Greater Manchester, Merseyside and Cheshire.

This role is diverse, with no two days the same. The wide range of issues we deal with makes it challenging, fascinating and rewarding.

But the Environment Agency is so much more than that. Our work supports the economic and social wellbeing of the communities we serve, contributing to a prosperous, resilient and sustainable society now and in the future.

You will be working with local authorities, businesses and the third sector, as well as MPs and senior civil servants. This is a busy role, as well as managing resources and budgets, you will help shape the future landscape of industry and development in the North West.

The role will also require/train you to be a calm and pragmatic senior incident commander for major events such as flood, fire and pollution as well as wider incidents alongside the other emergency services.

These jobs don’t come up often and are well sought after as they are fascinating and rewarding in that you will be helping change the lives of millions of people for the better for now and for generations to come!
You will be part of the Area Leadership Team who jointly support and lead an area of over 400 staff, ensuring we deliver our organisational targets.

You will be working with and leading passionate and skilled teams who are out every day working to protect and enhance our environment.
We are looking for someone who is dynamic, loves a challenge and is a great team player, as we can’t do this alone. We need effective influencers and someone who is strategic in their thinking. Leadership skills are crucial, as is your ability to inspire and motivate people.

You’d need to be cool headed in a crisis and use your emotional intelligence to be empathetic with customers and staff. We are looking for someone who is commercial in their thinking so that we are efficient and effective with our limited resources. If you’re innovative and can drive and deliver change by bringing people with you and can do all this with a smile then we would love to hear from you.
If you have any questions about the role, please contact Lesley.Worswick@environment-agency.gov.uk.

Assessments are likely to take place w/c 29 August.
