Working closely with external partners and customers, as the Senior Advisor you will lead on relationships, process and systems and intelligence needed to secure partnership funding for flood and coastal risk projects.

With oversight of the flood and coastal risk management programme you'll provide support within the team and externally to a range of Risk Management Authorities to improve knowledge and competence on partnership funding activities.

You will be required to take the lead on local contentious and complex issues, seeking joint wins and securing partnership funding for priority projects, with a specific emphasis on Great Yarmouth.

As well as being a mentor and coach to other team members , you’ll provide specialist advice, guidance and support to senior managers and external partners consistent with legislation and best practice, including; securing contributions through the use of the standard terms and the ‘contracting for contributions’ approach.

You will build and sustain excellent working relationships with partners; promoting and enhancing the Environment Agency’s goals and reputation, securing partnerships and funding.

This is a fixed term assignment for 12 months - INTERNAL CANDIDATES PLEASE NOTE you must ensure you seek agreement from your line manager to apply for this role.
Flood and Coastal Risk Management teams help protect against flooding and minimise the risks caused by floods.

As part of the Programming team you will monitor, drive and secure delivery from across the business. Working closely with the Partnerships and Strategic Overview team means leading with public and private sector partners to plan and help fund the creation of new assets that protect communities from future flooding.
This is a Senior Advisor role so you will be highly motivated with a proven ability to deliver results and support others to do the same.

You'll be adept at:
• influencing others and developing and maintaining effective partnerships whilst enhancing the reputation of the business.
• shaping efficient and effective ways of working
• using political sensitivity when talking to customers and communities
• forming and maintaining fruitful partnerships

With a sound knowledge of Flood & Coastal Risk Management you’ll have a proven ability to translate policy and legal requirements into sound advice.

A full UK driving licence is essential as access to remote parts of the catchment will be necessary.

The grade rate is £44,477
Hours: 37 per week.

The Environment Agency take part in incident response. If successful your line manager will discuss arrangements with you depending on your role and circumstances.
