We are looking for an enthusiastic, driven and adaptable individual to join the PSO team. In this role you will:
- Be the first point of contact for customers enquiring about a permit, offering technical and practical advice
- Co-ordinate responses to correspondence, enquiries and data requests, ensuring that customers receive responses within the agreed timeframe
- Facilitate effective working across the team by maintaining and developing information storage and retrieval systems and keeping information up to date and readily accessible

You will also enhance the area’s incident response capability by having an incident management role.
PSO work with Risk Management Authorities and communities to design, develop, fund and deliver flood risk management assets. We compile and use available evidence through mapping, modelling and data work to inform our plans and investment programme. PSO provide advice on Flood Risk Assessments, working with Sustainable Places to influence location and design of developments. We issue Flood Risk Activity Permits to protect the environment, prevent increases in flood risk and ensure adequate land drainage.
We are looking for an individual who can demonstrate:
- Knowledge of flood risk planning and permitting
- Ability to develop and maintain good relationships with internal and external customers
- Deliver work by planning, tracking, gathering and maintaining data/information
- Working under own initiative and as part of a team to make decisions and achieve planned outcomes
- Organisational skills and an ability to use MS Office (strong Excel skills are desirable) and other relevant applications such as Arc GIS
