Based in Solihull Sapphire East office, working as part of the National Enforcement Service in the Intelligence Team, working and processing intelligence checks and sharing and developing of environmental crime intelligence in partnership with other Law Enforcement Agencies. Will support an intelligence led approach to tackling environmental crime at National, International and Area Level by the accurate, timely collection, evaluation and dissemination of information and intelligence. Ensure team data, systems and records are accurate, up to date, kept securely and handled in accordance with Environment Agency Policies. Carrying out research and interpreting information to fulfil customer needs and the delivery of priorities in relation to environmental crime.

The candidate will also be required to:

• Support the provision of a comprehensive intelligence picture to lead, influence, direct and inform management’s decision-making process and enable effective targeting of resources in efficient, timely and costly manner.
• Support our intelligence-led approach to deter, disrupt, prevent and dismantle serious and organised environmental crime at an Area, National and international level.
• Develop and maintain strong customer relationships at National and Area level with internal and external stakeholders.
• Conduct tasks as required by Intelligence team leader
The Environment Agency’s Intelligence Team is responsible in the developing of all intelligence to direct and support the Environment Agency’s intelligence strategy; DEFRA funded projects and selected major investigations.

Desirable skills

Knowledge of the legislative environment (including Criminal Procedure and Investigations Act 1996, Knowledge of Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act 2000)
Excellent oral and written communication (including report writing)
Initiative and innovation while working as part of a team
Experience of working collaboratively with other teams and external stakeholders
Collaborative and methodical approach to problem solving, including good critical thinking skills
