Our Asset Performance teams perform an essential role in ensuring that people and property are protected from flooding. We manage our assets by taking the right investment decision at the right time; based upon robust data and excellent knowledge of our assets.

You will provide technical and administrative support to our teams delivery be that in managing our data, project support on construction jobs, creating plans for our incident response or responding to customer enquiries.

Your day to day tasks will vary such that you may be organising asset maintenance activities one day, undertaking data work the next day and liaising with our Field Team and completing utility searches on another. You also have the opportunity to get involved in incident response and take a leading role in co-ordinating our field service operatives during a flood.

This is a hugely varied and rewarding role that can provide a lot of job satisfaction, we are looking for candidates who are keen to develop technically and professionally. One or more of these posts will be offered the opportunity of a funded course of study as an apprentice in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
The Asset Performance team is a diverse team which is responsible for the overall performance of our flood risk assets across Leicestershire and Nottinghamshire. We ensure all assets are inspected, assessed, maintained and operated in a safe, efficient and effective manner to reduce flood risk for people and property. Our team comprises a mix of civil engineers, data and incident leads, asset inspectors and technical support.
It's important that you are a team player and able to manage multiple priorities and competing demands. You will have an awareness of Flood Risk Management and Asset Management but most importantly a willingness to learn and develop.

- Excellent communication skills (Essential)
- Excellent team working skills (Essential)
- Relevant work experience in the flood risk/environmental sector (Desirable)
- GIS experience / qualification (Desirable)
- Project management experience / qualification (E.g.PRINCE2/Agile) (Desirable)
- Qualifications in Engineering, construction or environmental sciences are advantageous
You'll be expected to travel to meetings across Leicestershire and Nottinghamshire so the post requires a full UK driving licence. The role is based out of our Trentside Office in Nottingham and/or our Field Depot at Rothley, Leicestershire.

One or more of these vacancies will be offered the opportunity to take part in a funded course of study as an apprentice in Civil Engineering or related discipline. We will discuss this option at the interview and selection stage.
