We are passionate about reducing plastic leaking into our oceans and have been awarded a grant from INTERREG to work collaboratively with seventeen partners in England and France. We are really excited to be able to extend our reach of support to communities, education, and drive to creating positive behaviours which will have a direct benefit to people and wildlife.

Are you the sort of person who is kind, well organised and ready for a challenge? Do you have line management experience, great interpersonal skills, can lead and manage budgets? Your team will work with a variety of organisations, communities, schools and businesses to reduce single use plastic and promote positive behaviour change. The project area you will work in covers the South coast of England with a particular focus area around Southampton and Portsmouth.

You will be part of an innovative team including a Programme Manager, two Project Officers, a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) Officer and Communications Officer, working in partnership with seventeen organisations across England and France to prevent plastic pollution. The team will have a highly influential role in creating positive behaviour change from young people to community and business leaders. The team will work closely with the existing Environment Agency Plastics and Sustainability Team.
The Programme Manager will have previous experience of programme management to ensure that their team delivers projects effectively, on time, in line with INTERREG requirements and within budget. You will be impressively organised, experienced in managing budgets and detailed financial reporting. In addition, you will lead one of the work packages on positive behaviour change, working closely with the other 17 partners delivering projects in this area so will have excellent people skills. In order to engage others, you will be confident to deliver presentations and workshops to a variety of internal and external stakeholders to communicate how the project is developing and what the outcomes are. The role will require a relevant degree and a driver's license.
The project area covers the south coast of England, with a particular project focus area around Southampton and Portsmouth. We work to reduce our carbon footprint where possible, however regular travel within the project area will be essential.

Normal hours will be between 9am - 5pm, Monday to Friday.

Driver's license
