To collect a range of environment samples in the field in a timely manner providing good quality data to enable delivery of positive environment outcomes for the Area. Main duties will include carrying out electric fishing surveys, intertidal fish monitoring, ecology and helping with routine water sampling, Bathing Water samples. When necessary, will help with incident management
The Sampling & Collection team play a vital role in obtaining good quality environmental data. We specialise in fish population, in both fresh and estuarine water, ecology, water quality and ground water levels information. This data is then used throughout the Agency to report to government and external parties about the state of the environment, enabling important decisions and actions to be made.
An enthusiastic, proactive individual who has a good practical knowledge of electric fishing survey techniques and is competent in the delivery, possibly trained to Officer in Charge (OIC) or working towards this qualification. Is familiar with inter tidal monitoring techniques for marine fish. Has practical experience of working with electronic data capture instrumentation and software. A full driving license is essential and badged vehicles are provided for use when carry out field work. You must be able to work as part of a team and be comfortable lone working, and in all weathers
