This role will play an important role in enhancing the team’s risk based approach, with a strong focus on risk management, continuous improvement, value for money and legislative compliance. The post-holder is responsible for supporting the Audit Managers, specifically by delivering a suite of Internal Audits on topics that extend across the whole of the Environment Agency from flood defence to farming regulations.
Engagement with senior management is a key aspect of the role and the successful applicant will play a major part in delivering the annual Internal Audit plan. The team is based in Bristol.

Internal Audit are always challenging what we do and how we do it to ensure we make a real difference for the benefit of the environment.
To be successful you will need to rapidly gain an understanding of our business, have excellent influencing skills to bring about change and have a solid background in managing clients.
The posts require significant Internal Audit experience within a complex organisation, a suitable professional qualification in Internal Audit or Accountancy (i.e. CMIIA, ACA, ACCA or CiPFA) and experience in personal delivery against challenging targets.
A good knowledge of financial accounting and / or IT systems would also be desirable.
Internal Audit is all about engagement and communication and therefore this is also a key skill required.
