As a Grade 4 engineering catchment officer, within the Asset Performance team, you'll be working on whole life Asset Management of flood risk assets. Key to this will be your engineering knowledge to ensure we optimise the life cycle of our existing assets through regular maintenance, intermittent maintenance, refurbishment and replacement.

You will need excellent communication skills to work closely within the team and our business partners internally to support others with less engineering knowledge. This is particularly important in planning works and the application of our risk management procedures to ensure we remain compliant with legislation: such as Health and Safety at Work; Construction, Design and Management Regulations; Reservoir Act to name only a few.

You will have to be self-motivating and capable of identifying opportunities to maximise our delivery capability in year and assist the Asset Performance team with identifying future year's investment to our assets.

Through the use of asset data you will prioritise inspections, maintenance, repair and recondition work, fulfil the post-inspection review process and ensure assets meet Environment Agency standards.
You will work closely with our specialists/advisors to provide sound advice to help deliver area priorities. The team work closely with our Field Teams and other internal teams.
• Experience and commensurate knowledge of working in health, safety and wellbeing in a high risk environment. Experience working with CDM regulations in the development of projects.
• Qualification or background in civil engineering field, eligible for Eng Tech, Incorporated or Chartered status with suitable recognised professional engineering body.
• Experience of working within Whole Life Asset Management systems
• Ability to translate 2d drawings and understand how they operate, be able to effectively communicate asset knowledge to our partners within.
• EA Delivering results working with others by coaching, mentoring of other team members who do not have Engineering background.
• Working with internal and external partners/stakeholders to help deliver the outcomes of both a specific asset and its catchment, understanding the relationships between different assets/catchments.
• Delivering work within a programme and project management framework to time, cost and quality.
• Manipulating and understanding data sets.

Member/Incorporated/Chartered ICE qualification is preferable.
