We’re looking for a committed individual to work as part of a team in the Yorkshire Area on the regulation of Process Industry – particularly within the Ferrous Metals Sector. The post-holder will contribute to the determination of permit applications and deliver a range of compliance activities to ensure operators are complying with their permits. Duties of the post will also involve liaison with partners, pressure groups and the public, and the post-holder will be required to take part in incident response activities.
The post will be based in South Yorkshire, within one of the three Yorkshire Process Industry Installations Teams.
The three teams work flexibly across Yorkshire, delivering regulation of some 300 sites across a range of industrial sectors.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated individual who;

• Demonstrates excellent communication skills and has experience of managing challenging customers and operators
• Applies decision making skills with a focus on the right outcomes, and on the best ways to achieve the outcomes through innovation / creative thinking
• Has a proven track record of successfully resolving complex issues through influencing, negotiation, working with others or enforcement
• Can work unsupervised, takes the lead and is a team player.
Qualifications
We expect the post-holder would have a degree level or equivalent education, ideally in one of the Physical Sciences. Experience in the Ferrous Metals Sector would be an advantage.
The role will require frequent and occasionally unscheduled travel across the Yorkshire Area to access sites. As a result the post requires a full UK driving licence.
The post is eligible for a lease car.
