The role will lead on asset investment need working closely with Asset Performance colleagues to ensure our river assets are funded ensuring that they perform to required standard of protection. Reporting on key performance indicators and coordinating monthly responses will involve close working with Asset Inspectors and other AP team members. Identifying funding streams and best delivery mechanisms will require close working with our Area Programming team.
You will also be expected to take on an incident response role that will cover both flood and environmental related emergencies.
It is also key that we identify and support the delivery of capital funded projects and the role will require identification of project outputs ensuring that all end users of the product have been adequately represented.

The Ely Asset Performance team is responsible for the efficient management of our assets. From routine visual inspection to more detailed engineering inspections which is vital in understanding the condition and required maintenance and or capital intervention needed for them to perform to the required standard. We are also key to the incident response for the catchment and developing emergency response plans plays a large part of the teams activity.
A sound engineering (ideally civil) and or asset management background will be essential to fulfilling the requirements of this role.
Experience of cost benefit analysis and whole life asset management is key to managing our assets to required standard. Recognising and identification of assets that are no longer cost beneficial will be important to drive our efficient management of assets including disposal and de-commissioning.
Working experience of asset management databases (Asset Inventory Management System) would be highly advantageous.
Good verbal and written skills as well as leadership qualities will enable the successful candidate to realise their potential and make a real difference in the role.
A full UK driving licence is essential.
