An exciting opportunity has arisen to play a leading role in Flood and Coastal Risk Management in East Anglia Area.

In Winter 2020/21 we experienced significant flooding across the area and a number of potential projects have been identified which could reduce flood risk and improve community resilience to flooding in future. This is a key role in supporting our partner organisations to develop and manage these projects.

You'll:
•Work with our partners and communities to identify and deliver the best flood risk and environmental outcomes
•Undertake project development and delivery for flood risk management projects
•Help develop our project programme
•Provide leadership and support to other members of the team and wider department

We work flexibly and from home but you'll be required to attend your base location or partner sites as needed.

The post is full-time although requests for other work patterns will be considered.

We as an Agency take part in incident response. There are opportunities to get involved and support depending on your role and circumstances.
The Flood and Coastal Risk Management department in the Great Ouse catchment is responsible for helping to protect people and property from future flood risk.

We work with partner organisations to develop and fund projects that reduce the risk of flooding to communities with the greatest need. The team also performs regulatory activities through planning and permitting, supports development of local strategies, and engages with partners and communities to increase resilience to flooding.
You'll bring good organisational awareness, knowledge of FCRM project development and an enthusiasm to achieve results.

• Have a proven track record of delivering projects to programme from inception through to approval, whilst working with internal and external stakeholders.
• Have a relevant degree / professional qualification.
• Be skilled at managing multiple priorities.
• Have the ability to work on own initiative and within a team.
• Be able to problem solve, using an intelligent, methodical approach and keen to find innovative solutions.
• Have an ability to build relationships across organisations and lead groups of stakeholders (both internal and external) to collaborate on flood risk management problems and solutions.
• Have strong communication, engagement and influencing skills.

Knowledge of Section 19 reports is desirable but not essential.
