We are looking for a highly motivated project manager to take the lead on the strategic delivery of flood risk outcomes through the planning system.

In this role you will develop an expert understanding of the flood risks and opportunities in Hertfordshire and North London. You will work closely with local authorities and internal teams to achieve our goal of protecting people and property from flooding, securing strategic support for FCRM projects and securing wider environmental benefits.

Hertfordshire and North London is a diverse area with significant growth occurring over the next few years. This creates exciting opportunities and challenging workloads.

You will also work closely with our flood risk management teams as they plan and develop FCRM projects and identify the best options for protecting communities at risk.
We are looking for someone who is versatile, self-motivated and can quickly fit in and contribute to the work of our busy teams. A real desire and commitment to build relationships, influence and work with external partners and internal teams is essential.

You will have experience of leading on strategic engagement and knowledge of either flood risk or planning policy.

Expected skills include:
• Project management
• An ability to work in a high workload, high pressure environment
• Effective influencing and negotiation
• Excellent customer service
• A flexible, positive approach
• A proven ability to achieve results
