We are looking for a driven individual to become an Environment Permitting Regulations Installation Officers to be part of a high performing team across the whole of the West Midlands.
The team regulates via environmental permits some of the most significant industry in England regulating a very diverse range of industries in sectors from Waste to Food and Drink, Chemicals to Biowaste, Incineration to Paper & Pulp and others.
Your role will be to regulate installation sites to ensure compliance and instill prevent pollution on sites. This will protect communities that live near these sites whilst promoting growth in industry. You will show that you have good auditing skills and a passion for improving the environment. We value experience both in regulation and industrial processes. You will influence and negotiate with people at senior levels within industry and local communities to achieve great outcomes.
As we have the same responsibilities and duties as other emergency responder (like the Police and Fire Service) you will have a strong presence in incident response and you will have an in and out of hours role.
We have 2 permanent roles and 1 temporary until March 2021 and another until July 2020
The team is based across the West Midlands and some travel across the area is expected (we currently provide a car with the role). We have offices in Tewkesbury, Kidderminster, Lichfield, Stafford, Shrewsbury & Solihull. We work flexibly so any of these offices could be your base and when trained some home working is allowed.
You will join a highly skilled team who will help you become a technically skilled regulator.
The successful candidates will be familiar and have experience in auditing, health and safety, management systems and the processes of industry.
You will get the chance to work across all of our area and develop specialist sectors. Whilst having specific industrial sector knowledge is not essential, you will need to show that you can influence people to progress improvements by using sound technical evidence.

You will need to be able to demonstrate that you can effectively communicate and influence in a variety of circumstances. Build and sustain relationships to enable us to get continuous improvement and enable open and honest conversations
achieve results.

You will need to have a technical background that may have been gained from a variety of experience either as a regulator or in a process industry. We are after motivated people that work independently and as part of a team to deliver great environmental outcomes.
