We are seeking skilled, enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join us in supporting people and communities to be prepared and resilient to flooding.

As a member of the Flood Resilience Team in Hertfordshire and North London you will be responsible for supporting the delivery of our flood warning and incident management services. As part of a varied workload you will be required to work with a range of internal and external customers and professional partners to:
- maintain and improve our flood warning service
- support multi-agency preparedness to respond to flooding
- support our wider incident response

Your primary focus will be to deliver improvements to our flood warning network. You will be confident working with data in order to review our current network and support decision making for future development. You will also have the opportunity to support the training of our incident staff and work with communities and professional partners to improve their understanding of flood risk and resilience to flooding.
Our Flood Resilience Team ensures we are resilient and ready for incidents by:
- maintaining our flood warning systems
- working with communities at risk from flooding, providing advice on what to do before, during and after flooding
- maintaining our incident room and supporting the training and exercising of our staff
- working with our professional partners to ensure we all pull together for the best response
Ideally you will:
- have an understanding flood risk and incident management
- have strong IT and data skills; experience of GIS software would be beneficial
- be well organised, able to prioritise a varied workload and maintain attention to detail to ensure your work is delivered to a high standard
- be self-motivated working well in team environment and under your own initiative
- be an excellent communicator able to use a range of styles to address different audiences
