We are seeking a confident and efficient Personal Assistant to provide a first class service to the Area Director of our Hertfordshire & North London office. This post is twelve month maternity cover. You will provide a comprehensive secretarial and administrative service, including diary, email and action management, providing secretariat support for key meetings including action-taking. The Personal Assistant will also act as the main contact point for internal and external customers when the Director is out of the office. There will also be requirements to work alongside the Area Leadership team, in order to support the efficient delivery of the function's business objectives.

The area liaises regularly with local members of parliament, councils and our chief executive’s office. You will be responsible for facilitating the responses to correspondence we receive from these sources whilst maintaining the professional face of the area manager’s office and the area.
Working directly for the Area Director in a high profile area you will work closely with the senior management team and team leaders. You will also build strong networks with other areas, national teams, organisations and have regular contact and communication with senior directors and members of Parliament.
Experience as a personal assistant at director level
- Able to adhere to strict confidentiality and security protocols
- Ability to carry out a combination of assigned tasks, mainly unsupervised
- Ability to prioritise workload and adapt to changeable deadlines
- Ability to manage a diary and perform administrative tasks using Microsoft Office
-Efficient meeting organisation so that meetings run smoothly and the best use is made of participant's time.
- You'll have excellent written/typing and verbal communication skills
- You'll be confident in engaging with staff and members of the public over the phone or in person

The successful candidate will be representing the Area Director. They have to be able to understand the needs of both the Director they are representing and the customers they are working with in order to reach the best solution on arrangements and requests.
Manages Self
The successful candidate will work closely with the Director they are supporting and the secretary network, but they need to be able to take a steer, demonstrate initiative and move work on. They need to be organised, self-starting and strike the right balance between being confident to move actions on and checking in on what is needed.
Works in Teams
The role requires work across many teams - the Area Leadership team, a team of secretaries and PAs, Area and National teams. The successful candidate has to be an accomplished team player with the ability to develop relationships with a wide group of people including those remotely based.
