We are looking for two experienced co-ordinators with strong influencing skills to lead on the multiple challenges and opportunities across all of our Sussex catchments. One Catchment Co-ordinator is needed to cover the Adur and Ouse and Arun and Western streams catchment and another is needed to cover Cuckmere and Pevensey. Successful candidates will work with area wide Environment Agency teams to better integrate the business, specifically by leading on the relevant Integrated Catchment Groups. They will also work with partners and stakeholders to design, deliver and promote catchment and area objectives, predominantly through external Catchment Partnerships.

You need to be able to work with a range of different audiences, including Conservation charities, Department for Environment Food and Rural Affairs family members, landowners, Local Authorities and stakeholders and operational teams. You will be required to build and sustain relationships internally and externally and develop and deliver communications to a wide range of stakeholders.

You will work with our partners to develop and deliver projects for our Solent and South Downs Environment Programme and help and support the existing and incoming internal project managers, project executives and sponsors.
The posts will sit within the Solent and South Downs Environment Programme team and the successful candidate will work alongside the other Catchment Co-ordinators in that team.

• Identifying, communicating and helping to fill knowledge gaps in the business.
• Demonstrating political awareness when dealing with customers, stakeholders and communities.
• Using effective written and spoken communication skills to help persuade internal or external partners to take action.
• Professional knowledge and application, to influence and inform stakeholders on environmental issues.
• Analysing/interpreting evidence to contribute effective solutions for technical problems.
