The post is for an operations Team Member 2A and represents the organisations front line response to flooding and pollution incidents. As a Team member you will operate our assets and defences in the event of a flood incident and put our contingency plans into action in the event of asset failure. You will also deliver the routine maintenance programme and in doing so repair failing defences and improve the conveyance of water courses so they are in a fit state to cope with severe weather events.
The Mole and South London Field team is based at Beverley Way operational depot, SW20 0AW. We deliver a maintenance programme on rivers and watercourse across the area, we respond to flooding and environmental incidents both day and night. We provide advice and support to our colleagues in Asset Performance, Hydrometrics, Biodiversity and Environment Management.

We also work across the country when called upon to assist other areas in incident response and environmental incidents.
You should demonstrate a positive adaptable approach and a ‘can do’ attitude as a worthy team player. Good organisational skills and an ability to work under pressure during incidents is essential. You must understand site health and safety requirements (training given) and you’ll need good communication skills to work with customers and partners.

We would like you to have a good level of environmental awareness and experience with tablet style computers and familiarity with mobile technology will be useful. Willing to learn and practical skills are very important to this roll.

Full UK driving licence is essential.
The role will be based at Beverley Way Depot, Raynes Park, London. SW20 0AW and interviews will be held on mid to end November 2021.

This role attracts London Weighting allowance of £1.873 per year.
