3. Lead a team of project professionals, setting clear direction and goals. Support their professional development and coach and mentor others to build capacity, capability and professionalism across the wider team.

Working flexibly, you’ll be able to develop your career through the delivery of ground-breaking projects and close cooperation with senior leaders across the FCRM Directorate and Operations.
Our Improvements Portfolio drives innovation and continuous improvements across FCRM and Incident Management and plays a key part in delivering our corporate and FCRM strategies and delivery plans. This covers almost all of the national business improvement in FCRM, some £130m worth of projects over the next four years.

Our track record for delivery is exceptional, and we pride ourselves on building a one team approach between the directorate and operations colleagues.
Experience/skills:
We are looking for someone who is motivated and passionate, and who has:
• Excellent, and proven, programme and portfolio management skills with a good knowledge of what best practice portfolio management looks like.
• A successful track record of portfolio planning, prioritisation and assurance, and delivering projects (particularly technology projects) and portfolios of work in a complex business environment.

• The leadership acumen and skills to manage projects within a wider context of cultural and organisational change.
• The confidence and interpersonal skills to work with senior managers and other key decision makers to gain their confidence and trust in delivering projects affecting large numbers of operational staff.
• Professional qualifications are desirable but not essential e.g. Management of Portfolios, PRINCE2, Chartership or APM Membership.
Our team is dispersed and there is good opportunity for hybrid working. Some national travel will be required.
