This internal/external facing role is an amazing opportunity to contribute to our Geospatial development across the whole of the organisation, enabling our colleagues to deliver our challenging environmental ambitions.
We need someone to:
• Help us manage our contract relationship with our key suppliers,
• Work with Defra Commercial to get the best value from these contracts.
• Coordinate requirements from the team
• Lead on Whole Life Costs, developing business cases and submitting bids for funding.
Ideal candidate will also have knowledge of GIS, with user management, and data and information management experience using ESRI products. You will combine a strong drive to modernise with a passion for improving the environment.
Working in the National GIS Team you will provide contract management support for our spatial tools and systems and work closely with the team to ensure best use of our resources. You will be able to identify opportunities to reduce effort and duplication and work with other teams to ensure we have a common approach on financial and contract management activities.
The National GIS Team provide Geospatial services and lead on their use in the EA. We deliver through a variety of tools including Easimap2, our in-house GIS view and query tool, ArcMap Desktop and IM Portal, an ArcGIS Enterprise service configured and maintained for Incident Management. We also manage and support access to ArcGIS Online (AGOL). A joined-up, well-managed, modern suite of services is essential for our users.
We require a combination of the following experience or skills:

• Experience of financial management and familiarity with finance systems
• Experience of contract management
• Experience working with Commercial Teams and processes
• Experience of Whole life Costs management
• Capable of gathering requirements and communicating them to delivery partners
• Understanding of data licencing and data protection policies and procedures.
• Understanding of ESRI spatial mapping tools.
Everyone starting in a new role with the Environment Agency will be welcomed into the team and given all the training and support you need to succeed. There are also fully funded opportunities to develop further academic/professional qualifications.

In this role you will need to work with members of the GIS Team, wider directorate as well as DDTS, commercial and external delivery partners,. Can you describe how you go about developing and maintaining relationship with customers and delivery partners?
