To lead one of our frontline operational teams, we require an experienced property professional, who can motivate, enable and empower our people to deliver a professional Estates service that exceeds customer expectations, through an innovative approach which delivers value for money. Working in the Environment Agency will mean that the environment will be at the heart of everything you do.
The Estates service extends to 114 people, offering professional support for Environment Agency land, property, compensation and valuation matters. We are core to the delivery of the Agency's £2.6 billion capital programme to better protect 300,000 homes. Our experienced teams specialise in negotiating access, dealing with compensation claims from land and property owners where they have suffered loss as a consequence of our work.
We also manage the Agency's landholdings, which extends to 26,000 hectares.
An experienced chartered surveyor with a forward thinking approach, who can demonstrate high performing leadership qualities to:

*Lead, coach and develop a dispersed Estates team.

*Build networks and influence both internal and external stakeholders to build strong partnerships and maintain a positive reputation.

*Lead on technical and professional issues at a senior level internally and externally with a wide range of organisations on all land and property issues.

*Manage professional support for major capital projects and give direction on land and compensation matters to deliver value for money and minimise project risk.

*Manage a diverse operational land and property portfolio and advise on all property matters.

*Manage budgets and manpower resources including external consultants.

Membership of RICS is required.

This role will involve regular travel around your work area and some national travel, therefore a full driving licence is essential. A lease car will be provided.

Full Driving Licence is required and proof will be requested at interview.
Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS or FRICS).
