Are the challenges and rewards of technical leadership part of your career plan?

If so, we are looking for an experienced Hydrology Technical Specialist to join our newly formed Hydrology team in the West Midlands.

This technical leadership role is absolutely critical to how we empower and support our people to do a fantastic job. You’ll be working closely with the Hydrology team leader to develop technical resilience and implement new ways of working.
The newly formed Hydrology team comprises two Technical Specialists and four Technical Officers. The Technical Specialists will be expected to work collaboratively to transform the Area’s Hydrology service by creating a work environment where creativity and innovation thrive. They will be crucial in creating a culture where everyone can be themselves and are therefore able to give their best. The role may be located at our offices in Lichfield, Shrewsbury or Tewkesbury.
We are looking for enthusiastic, self motivated applicants, who see that providing great leadership is as important as using their specialist technical knowledge to protect people and the environment.

You will have extensive hydrological experience together with an in depth understanding of water resources. You will be able to communicate across a wide network of audiences, having the skills to turn technical detail into compelling argument for the respective audience.

We would also expect successful candidates to be able to demonstrate the essential level of competence across the competencies described in the leadership and management competencies framework.

Membership of an appropriate professional body is desirable.
