This important role provides a comprehensive administrative/PA service to the Deputy Director (Chief Prosecutor) Legal Services in order to ensure smooth, integrated and efficient administrative operations that support the effective delivery of Legal Services’ business objectives. The role provides a helpful and customer focused front of house service, acting as ambassador for the Deputy Director (Chief Prosecutor) and ensuring good working relationships with internal and external colleagues, clients and customers to facilitate quality outcomes.
Our Personal Assistants are part of the wider national Legal Support team who provide support across Legal Services on a wide range of often complex and sensitive matters. Reporting directly to the Deputy Director (Chief Prosecutor), the role will also provide cover for our other PAs when required.
You will be:
• Proficient in typing, minute taking, word processing, document presentation and diary management skills.
• Highly organised with ability to understand and work within existing information storage and retrieval systems and also establish systems and approaches to facilitate the efficiency of the team.
• Able to proactively establish good working relationships with internal colleagues, clients and external customers.
• Able to anticipate the needs of the Deputy Director, taking action to draft responses to standard queries and to chase up team members for contributions/responses.
• Experienced in dealing with confidential, sensitive materials and handling or organising large amounts of documentation.
• Capable of organising overseas trips for Deputy Director in her role as ENPE President and working with ENPE Board members (ENPE: European Network of Prosecutors for the Environment).
• Able to work independently when the Deputy Director is away from the office or when travelling overseas.

It is also important to maintain good communication within a dispersed team, accordingly this role will involve frequent phone and email contact with team members working in other Environment Agency offices and an element of chasing, structuring and organising meetings. The role may involve some travel from time to time.
